It's a New Year and a new decade. I think that most of us can agree that 2019 was nothing short of a roller coaster but thank God we made it to the end *pats self on back*

Here are 10 good habits that would be useful to develop in this glorious new year of 2020. Hope that it helps and you enjoy it!

1. Organisation

This year is the year to get your folders, diaries and all other resources that can aid you in being more organised.

Let's try to be better manage our time this year, leaving no room for your potential to be doubted due to your lack of organisation.

Tip: Daily, weekly and monthly goals and to do lists that can move you closer to your best self.

2. Discipline

If you want to see results this year, then discipline is KEY. This means staying committed to your goals and doing exactly what you said you are going to do. Whether it's maintaining a healthy lifestyle or smashing your targets. You can be sure that once you adopt this then you can achieve anything that you set your mind to.

3. Accountability

The sooner you decide to take accountability for your actions, the better.

This will not only help to maintain good relations with other people (because nobody likes a know-it-all that can't take responsibility for the things that they do), BUT it also allows you to realise that you are in control of a lot of the events that occur in your life - the good and bad!

4. Get in touch with your spirituality

This one may not apply to everyone if you are religious and that's okay (see next point), but getting in tune with your spirituality can really help to align your thoughts and protect you throughout 2020.

Go to that new church your friend has been inviting you to. Open that bible that's been collecting dust on your shelf! The beginning of the year is always a fresh start and a chance to wipe the slate clean and start again with your faith.

5. Being grateful

Whatever you focus on, you attract more of. Remember to always show gratitude because this is the fastest way to attract more greatness and abundance into your life.

Gratitude can be shown even for the smallest things that we usually take for granted, such as waking up in the morning. Showing appreciation for the little things will definitely help to attract the bigger things.

6. Doing more good deeds

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I notice that the more I give, the more I receive from God and the universe in return. Not only does doing good deeds make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but it is definitely an act that could make the world a better place.

7. Patience

It's so easy to live up to the unrealistic expectations of society when you're growing up in this generation, where they say 'by 25' you should have achieved x,y and z.

So, having patience is something that will help you to reach the best version of yourself the right way and at a healthy pace. Patience is a virtue and the results from it are extremely rewarding.

8. Improving financial literacy

"The more you learn, the more you earn"

Improving your financial literacy will aid you in your journey of financial stability and freedom. A lot of what you learn on this journey of improvement can be implemented into your own life and practices to help you make better decisions with your money this year and beyond.

Invest in the right books and that knowledge will pay off ten-fold in the future.

Tip: "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" was one of the first financial literacy books that I have read by Robert Kiyosaki.

9. Improving mental health

Paying attention to your mental health this year and beyond is very important. I'm sure that some can relate when I say that 2019 was a very trying year mentally, however that doesn't mean that you should expect the same for 2020.

Take intentional breaks from your craft, treat yourself to a holiday or two throughout the year, take some time out to reflect and communicate your emotions.

Once you are in a good mind state this will improve many other areas of your life naturally.

10. Consistency

Consistency is key for the year of 2020. Committing to something and seeing it through 'til the end. Never quitting.

If you want to see results this year, then it's important to remain consistent with everything that you plan to do. You may not always feel as though your consistency in your craft is paying off the way you'd expect it to, but it's important to remember your potential and keep it pushing regardless. Your moment could be right around the corner!
