They say time is money, so I put this blog post together to help you save a bit of both! If you're in the Middle East, then it might be useful to know of some apps that can help make your trip a lot easier . I wish that I had known about these apps when first visiting, but nonetheless... I'm here to share what I've learned that has made my life 10x easier when visiting the Middle East. Best part about it, is they're all FREE!
This is basically the Uber Eats/Deliveroo of the UAE. You can get practically any takeaway you want from restaurants in your area. It's simple to use. Type in your location and a bunch of restaurants you can order from will appear. This has come in handy so many times when you can't be bothered to go out.
If you didn't know that in the UAE, you can get practically anything delivered to you... even if it's just one single pack of gum, then now you know. This app allows you to order from nearby supermarkets, which will deliver whichever items that you need to your hotel, apartment or home. It's super easy to use and fast. They will deliver the items directly to your room if you're precise about it, which saves you a trip to the grocery store and is very helpful.
Here WeGo app is basically a google maps, the great thing about the app is that you can use it while offline too, so this will help you get around easily without relying on data!
If you're a serial shopper, then this one is for you. It allows you to scan the barcodes and QR codes of different products in stores. Once you're done scanning , then it allowes tou to compare these prices with the exact same products in other stores to help you find the cheaspest one.
NearBuy is another useful shopping app, that would be useful to download when visiting any malls in the UAE. It tells you straight away where all the sales are happening and in what stores, which will save a bargain-hunter plenty of time.
6. The Entertainer
This app is available in a few Middle-Eastern countries, such as Dubai. It allows you to choose from a number of offers available on the app, such as buy one get one FREE dining and many more. This is the perfect app for money-saving tourists and locals.
Careem taxi is like an Uber service, but cheaper! It's used throughout the Middle East and has recently been introduced in Dubai. I first found out about this app when visiting Doha, Qatar. To my surprise, this was actually a replacement for Uber, since uber is not allowed in the conuntry to protect the livelihoods of locals.
Thanks for reading and if I've missed any tha you think could be useful too then let me know!
